Financial support of UMRC can be given in two distinct ways-either through current gifts or endowment gifts. Donors may direct current gifts to support UMRC’s programs or projects through annual, planned, and corporate giving (see below). Endowment support creates a perpetual source of funding by keeping the principal of the gift intact. Only the income of the funds earnings can be spent to support programs. Annual Giving
Annual giving opportunities assist UMRC in it's effort to reduce substandard housing across South Carolina. Funds are directed for use in our programs/projects of service to rebuild and enhance the lifestyles of those living in unsafe and substandard housing situations.
Planned Giving Planned giving provides the donor with many options to help UMRC. Unrestricted gifts enable UMRC to direct resources to meet the most pressing needs of clients or make the greatest impact on the lives of families in need. 89% of funds donated to UMRC are used to support our home construction projects. Corporate giving is a vital source of materials for UMRC. We partner with various local businesses and organizations to recieve in-kind gifts of lumber, tools and construction related supplies. These ties enable UMRC to continue to provide quality construction at lower costs for low income families across South Carolina.
