Striva's Community Youth Service Program (SCYS) is proving that youth are eager and capable of making a difference in their community!
The goal of the SCYS program is to empower youth in rural communities to effect change in their lives and their community. Participating students are empowered by their ability to help others, their increased sense of competency, and through the relationships they develop with their mentors. In addition, the SCYS program promotes the development of construction skills needed to repair substandard homes. Students gain on-the-job training, which improves their construction abilities and helps participants accomplish goals through problem solving and teamwork.
